Student Accounts and the Elyria Catholic Network
Each student has an individual username and password which should not be shared with other individuals. When using a computer you should only use your username and password. To protect your work, always log off a computer when finished using it.
What is my username?
Your username is your first name followed by a dot and then your last name.
What is my password?
Your initial password is your student ID number which can be found on your student ID card.
For example if your name is Joe Smith and your student ID is 123456 your login would be as follows.
joe.smith
123456
Please note that there are special exceptions. If your name has spaces in it, the spaces have been removed. Also, if your name is hyphenated, only the later name is used. For example if your name is Mary Ann Jones-Davis your username would be maryann.davis
How can I save documents so that they follow me to the next computer that I use?
All documents should be saved in the “My Documents” folder located on the desktop. This folder is automatically redirected onto the network and anything saved in the “My Documents” folder is actually stored on the servers and backed up nightly. When you log off a computer and log back into another computer, all files that were previously saved in “My Documents” will be in the “My Documents” folder of the computer logged into (these documents follow you from computer to computer). No documents should be saved to the c:\ (local drive) of a computer.
What is the s:\ (s drive)?
The s:\ is a shared network drive. Students have read only access. Teachers have read and write access. If a teacher wants students to be able to grab an assignment or a specific file, it will be placed here and all students can access these files.
How can I change my password?
Passwords can be changed by pressing control, alt, and delete at the same time and selecting “Change Password…”
Who can I talk to if I am having a problem logging into a computer or forgot my password?
Please contact Mr. Matt Smith, Smith@Elyriacatholic.com
