What inspired and influenced your decision to attend Elyria Catholic?
As a student at St. Mary's School in Elyria, many of my classmates & teammates were continuing on to EC. In addition, I was fortunate enough to have parents who understood and valued Catholic education. (But in all honesty… I had attention issues… discipline and athletics were instrumental at an early age).
What do you remember most fondly about your time at EC?
Education, Faith, Athletics and friendships I still have to this day.
What did you learn or experience at EC that has helped you in your life now?
Adversity & teamwork. I also learned from Maggie & Rookie (Jerry), my parents. If you want learn about something, you want to value something or experience something first hand? “ Go see it! It’s not coming to see you”.
Did you have a favorite teacher?
Most of the Educators were brilliant & very patient ( Many were coaches as well). Thank you!
What did your life look like upon graduation?
Already committed to further my studies at Rutgers University & play football as well. Received a degree on time and played for an up and coming program for 5 yrs.
What are you doing now professionally?
I became a licensed Insurance professional in the early 90s. I opened my own practice in 2000. In 2024, I merged forces with Schlather Insurance/Choice Financial.
What do you do in your free time?
There is no “Free Time”. Make Time. Family comes 1st.
What advice do you have for current students?
Hard Work Pays Off”! (May have stolen that from Coach Barlow?) Remember where you came from and kinda have a direction to where you want to go. Learn as much as you can along the way and enjoy what you’re doing. Expect you will have to pick yourself up, be smart enough to ask for advice, but be certain to listen.
