Elyria Catholic President Annie Heidersbach Announces $10.8 Million Boldly EC Campaign
Dear Elyria Catholic Community,
For nearly eighty years, Elyria Catholic High School has been strengthened by the people who believe in us—alumni, parents, parish partners, faculty, staff, and friends who see this school not simply as a place of learning, but as a family rooted in faith and purpose. Every day, I am reminded that the heart of Elyria Catholic is our community and our shared commitment to helping young adults learn, worship, and serve, guided by Catholic tradition.
It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I share an important milestone in our school’s history: the launch of Boldly EC, a $10.8 million comprehensive campaign to strengthen our mission, expand our campus, and secure the future of Catholic education in Lorain County.
Grounded in the bold vision of our founder, Monsignor Newton, Elyria Catholic remains the only Catholic high school in Lorain County and the only co-educational Catholic high school serving families in the far western suburbs. As enrollment grows and our academic and co-curricular programs flourish, we must ensure that our facilities and resources keep pace with the needs of today’s students—and tomorrow’s.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of early supporters, we have already secured $7.9 million toward our $10.8 million goal. Their leadership has laid a remarkable foundation, and we continue to welcome leadership gifts that will help bring this vision fully to life.
What Boldly EC Will Make Possible
The Boldly EC Campaign strengthens our school in four essential and interconnected areas:
1. Leadership & Innovation Center and Courtyard — $3.6 million
A transformative hub for learning, leadership development, and student support, the Center will feature flexible gathering areas and a comprehensive student success hub that unites guidance, STEM, career, and college advising. Attached to the Center will be a beautifully designed courtyard—a welcoming outdoor space for collaboration, reflection, and celebrations. Together, these two environments will foster innovation, community, and the Catholic mission that shapes every student’s journey.
2. Electrical Modernization & Air Conditioning — $1.4 million
A full electrical upgrade that will allow air conditioning in both the Coliseum and the James E. Terrell Performing Arts Center for the first time in our history. These improvements will enhance safety, comfort, year-round usability, and the overall student and family experience.
3. Investing in the Future: Endowment — $5 million
A strengthened endowment ensures long-term stability, increases tuition assistance, and provides sustained support for academic excellence, faith formation, and student programming.
4. Everyday Excellence: Panther Fund — $800,000
The Panther Fund enhances the student experience each day by supporting academics, co-curricular programs, technology, safety, and student support services.
